Denmark is considered to be the happiest country in the world. That's down to one thing: hygge.

Yesterday I finally got my hands on this gorgeous book by Meik Wiking. The man is the CEO of the Happiness Research Institute in Copenhagen and he knows for sure what the real "hygge" is. By the way, the word "hygge" is something we don't really use/have in our language(and I believe in most languages of the world), so this book will give you a detailed explanation of what this term is.

🏡

"You know hygge when you feel it. It is when you are cuddled up on a sofa with a loved one, or sharing comfort food with your closest friends. It is those crisp blue mornings when the light through your window is just right."

Meik, who spent years studying the Danish life, will show you how to create your own hygge: from lighting in house to food. Moreover, the book is beautifully published. All those amazing photos, illustrations and charts along with engaging text will keep you interested till the very end.

Though the topic is nothing new, you may find it very cozy and calming to read.

EN: We are finally on the finish line on our way to warm weather! As always I had a serious problem with surviving Winter, but the sun gives me tons of energy. My friend and I decided that this month we should change our lives for better - by that I mean having less depressing thoughts and anxiety and more fun.

🍿🍿🍿

We started off by going to the gym on a regular basis and visiting at least one interesting place once a week. Most of them were coffe shops, cute cafes and restaurants, but we wanted to broaden that list. So our next stop was cinema. Among all of the movie theaters in the city our favourite one is a"8 1/2". It's lovely, authentic and they play films in the original language. What else to need?

🐵🐵🐵

This time we watched "Kong: Skull Island" and unfortunately were not impressed by it. I mean, the movie was okay, but there were some ehhh moments. However, our next must-see is "The Beauty and the Beast" and I really hope I'll love that one.

...aaand just a little update! I have a few exciting plans for this Spring. It's mostly traveling and blog/Instagram stuff, but I really hope it'll make my life a bit brighter.

👋💕

EN: The best source of inspiration for me is other people's photographs and videos(even better if combined with some good tunes). Instagram and blogs are the easiest way to see the newest pictures from all around the world. Right now I'm sitting wrapped in a blanket at home in a very cold town in the middle of nowhere, so I guess it is the best time to look through my favourite blogs to get inspired. These are a few of my current faves, enjoy!

Simple+Beyond

Simple+Beyond is the project that belongs to the two girls - Yana and Anastasia and is about traveling, photography, food, beauty and fashion. The blog exists since 2015 and already has thousands of followers. As they are very selective with the content the readers only get to see the best texts and pictures, so this is one of the best websites to get inspired (as well as their Instagram).

Anastasia Volkova

Anastasia is the co-owner of Simple+Beyond and photographer. She also has her own blog, where she writes mostly about traveling. Every picture and video is a real masterpiece and I always feel an urge to visit the place from a pic as soon as possible.

FiveFiveFabulous

FiveFiveFabulous is the creation of Lebanese sisters, Reem and Natalya. The blog was founded in 2012 to document their journeys in fashion, style, beauty and travel. Now the girls blog from two cities: London(Reem) and Dubai(Natalya) while the quality of photos and the quantity of posts only grow. My favourite part of it is their vibe - a mix between Arabic and British energy.

EN: I'm guilty of creating to-read lists every year and never actually finishing them. I used to read a lot, but now I spend my time dealing with the stresses of adult life. To be more exact - I'd only red about five or six books since 2013. Every year I promise myself that it'll change and it never does. So this time I've decided to create a very small list of 20 books and read at least 10 of them by December 2017. And here it is!

  • A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway
  • An Interrupted Friendship by Ethel Lilian Voynich
  • To the Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf
  • The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
  • Men Without Women by Ernest Hemingway
  • The Golden Notebook by Doris Lessing
  • The Help by Kathryn Stockett
  • The Idiot by Fyodor Dostoyevsky
  • The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov
  • Dracula by Bram Stoker
  • Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë
  • Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes
  • Heaven Has No Favorites by Erich Maria Remarque
  • The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
  • The Minds of Billy Milligan by Daniel Keyes
  • When God Was a Rabbit by Sarah Winman
  • Great Expectations by Charles Dickens
  • The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd
  • East of Eden is a novel by John Steinbeck
  • The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien

EN: Last year was a good-kind-of-crazy for me. I had a chance to see new places and faces and it only made me want to change my life even more. Every year I create a list of all the resolutions for the next 365 days and sometimes find myself pleased with the results at the end. But this time I decided to change the game a little bit: I'll still create a list, but the most important part of it will be to stop planning and start doing. I've been putting my life aside for so long and now here is the chance to turn it upside down. Being scared of new things and people's reactions was normal for me, but it's finally the time to leave the comfort zone.

P.S. - Oh, and by the way - reading more books is one of the most important points in the list!
